Gust Holvoet (°1983, Kortrijk) is a Belgian artist.
Gust is passionate about creativity and experimentation. Born and raised in Heule, he discovered his artistic calling later in life. After years of working in stand construction and as a motocross/supermoto rider, he began exploring the art world in 2016. In 2020, he became a full-time artist.
He works with recycled materials and experiments with light, colour and perspective. His art is distinguished by a dynamic interplay between left and right. Depending on where the viewer is standing, the perspective changes. Seen from the left, an artwork can look completely different than from the right. Each work of art is unique and testifies to profound creativity and craftsmanship. Holvoet has the skill to deal with a wide variety of materials in an inventive way. His creative process is extremely innovative.
The artist considers himself to be self-taught with no commercial talent, but finds satisfaction in communicating purely and directly through his art. Gust draws inspiration from his diverse life experiences and the world he has explored, translating these into works of art. He challenges the viewers to reconsider their perception.
